Public Benefits

Roslyn Landing has been designed to provide the village with a unique residential community that compliments its historic architecture, opens up its waterfront to the public and aids in cutting the cost of government with an approximately additional $1,600,000 in yearly taxes. The development includes 80 units and the developer has committed in excess of $8,000,000 for public amenities and infrastructure improvements within the village. The benefits include the following:

  • Complete upgrades to the existing village sewage pump station which otherwise would be a 100% burden on the village taxpayer because the existing pump station has reach its life expectancy. (Approx $3,500,00)
  • Contribution for public parking improvements to be directed by the village. (Approx $2,000,000)
  • Construction of a public waterfront promenade along Roslyn waterfront. (Perpetual maintenance and care to be maintained by the development.)
  • Contribution to the Roslyn Landmarks Commission to aid in the preservation of the village's heritage.
  • Public Village Plaza off Main Street that connects to the public promenade. (Perpetual maintenance and care to be maintained by the development.)
  • A village green will be provided as an amenity to the development as well as the public (Perpetual maintenance and care to be maintained by the development.)
  • Replacement of the existing main sewer trunk line to county waste facilities and thereby help protect the region's environment, addressing long standing concerns regarding community storm water drainage and sewage.

These proposed financial commitments from Roslyn Landing reflect its willingness to meet a broad spectrum of needs - from replacing such basic but critical infrastructure as an aging sewer station, to preserving the heritage of the village. It is a reflection of how this long dormant parcel can be restored as a vibrant, attractive and complimentary element within the larger fabric of the Village of Roslyn and our neighbor.
